Town Green Construction Progress, 11/12/10

Phase I Nearing Completion
Work crews have almost completed working on the undrerground utilities. There are new stormwater service lines in place, as well as underground utility lines, relocated sanitary sewer lines and gas lines. The new stormwater system, once fully operational, should result in a reduction of stormwater runoff and improve drainage for businesses surrounding the Town Green and businesses along the Rutledge Street corridor.

The first phase of the project should be completed early next week, as crews tie in stormwater lines and connect the underground utility system. All that remains is relocation of sewer, electric, and water lines in the vicinity of the northern edge of the project area and Market Street.
Phase II is estimated to last approximately 2 weeks. During Phase II, work crews will begin pouring concrete drives located on the southern edge of the project area. Expect driveways from the Wachovia and NBSC to remain open.
There are still issues with parked vehicles blocking the Rutledge Street alleyway access. This is a fire safety issue. If you see vehicles blocking the alleyway entrance please report it to the Camden Police Department.
Everyone is highly encouraged to allow accessibility to rear parking for the disabled. As a reminder, all deliveries should be made from the fronting street of your building or in the designated loading areas.
